The Unbound Storytellers are a talented team of performers dedicated to providing high-quality storytelling for the local community.
Our Storytellers travel out to all manner of venues and special events to tell great stories for the general public, continuing the oral tradition of performance storytelling in which no two retellings are quite the same!
Stories might be specially-commissioned for a particular event or venue, or drawn from our compendium of thrilling tales featuring original stories and reimagining's of classic fables and fairytales. Or - if you want to hear a truly new tale - the Storytellers can improvise a brand new story on the spot based on your suggestions!
The Storytellers have appeared in multiple Unbound projects over the last four years, including our acclaimed pantomime production of Pinocchio in 2017, and the readings of the winning entries of our 500 Words competition in 2019 as part of that year's WhizzFizzFest.
The Unbound Storytellers can be booked for any occasion. If you run a venue / live event and want to entertain your visitors, or if you're from a school / library looking to bring stories to life, then we're here for you!
We can create a brand new story inspired by your venue / event, collect together tales on a particular theme or subject matter, delve into our collection of stories old and new, or create new stories on the spot.

The Unbound Storytellers are a community of performers with a passion for telling great stories. Anyone can become a storyteller, regardless of previous experience. We're here to give you everything you need.
In Autumn 2021 we'll be running a special training programme of workshops designed to teach performers the skills needed to act as one of the Unbound Storytellers at venues and live events around the county.
Scroll down to find out more about the training programme and how you can apply to join the first intake of new Unbound Stoytellers!
If you're passionate about telling stories and connecting with audiences then this training programme will give you the opportunity to develop your skills ready to appear as a Unbound Storyteller.
Through a series of workshops (taking place on Thursday nights between September and November 2021) you'll explore performance techniques, improvisation, and writing / devising - all led by experienced practitioners.
At the end of the programme you'll be ready to take on the role of Unbound Storyteller, and will join the team of performers heading out to venues and events in 2022.
Storytellers need to be confident about performing to, and interacting with, audiences. The act of storytelling requires a degree of improvisation skill, but if you've no previous experience then have no fear! We'll teach you what you need to know so long as you're keen to learn.
If you're interested in becoming an Unbound Storyteller, email email@example.com with a cover letter detailing your previous experience and explaining why you're keen to take part.
