The Unbound Storytellers are a talented team of performers dedicated to providing high-quality storytelling for the local community.
Our Storytellers travel out to all manner of venues and special events to tell great stories for the general public, continuing the oral tradition of performance storytelling in which no two retellings are quite the same!
Stories might be specially-commissioned for a particular event or venue, or drawn from our compendium of thrilling tales featuring original stories and reimaginings of classic fables and fairytales. Or - if you want to hear a truly original tale - the Storytellers can improvise a brand new story on the spot based on your suggestions!
The Storytellers have appeared in multiple Unbound projects over the last four years, including our acclaimed pantomime production of Pinocchio in 2017, and the readings of the winning entries of our 500 Words competition in 2019 as part of that year's WhizzFizzFest.
A selection of stories inspired by the legend of the Dinton Hermit, John Bigg - who's rumoured to have helped but off King Charles I's head! Performed as part of the 2024 Buckinghamshire History Festival.
Our storytellers joined forces with musical improvisers AbLibretto for a night of spontaneous tales all created from audience suggestions.
To launch the new Aylesbury Anthology community project, the Unbound Stoyrytellers presented a brand-new short story inspired by the anthology itself, performed at Queens park Arts Centre's Limelight Theatre.

Heralding the start of the festive season, our storytellers performed two new short stories, including an ice skating adventure for Old Ma Mallard and the Aylesbury Ducks.

A twenty minute performance as part of Queens Park Arts Centre's Open Day event, featuring a brand-new tale featuring Old Ma Mallard and the Aylesbury Ducks...
Having spent two years traveling around Buckinghamshire collecting stories, the Unbound Storytellers returned home to QPAC with an evening of their favourite tales, alongside some improvised yarns.
The Unbound Storytellers can be booked for any occasion. If you run a venue / live event and want to entertain your visitors, or if you're from a school / library looking to bring stories to life, then we're here for you!
We can create a brand new story inspired by your venue / event, collect together tales on a particular theme or subject matter, delve into our collection of stories old and new, or create new stories on the spot.
