Auditions & Casting

Unbound is committed to providing equal opportunities for actors of all levels of experience.

Projects such as contemporary plays, pantomime, rehearsed readings and audio productions are often cast through either open auditions or via a casting call. Information on these can be found below.

Unbound is committed to maintaining a professional standard when staging its productions and to cast the right actor for the right role. We're always delighted to meet and work with new people, and anyone with an enthusiasm for theatre and storytelling is welcome to try out for a part.

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day planning and execution of Unbound projects, working alongside the wider production team.
Work with show directors and department coordinators to source props, scenery, and costumes for individual shows.
Maintain budgets where applicable, and keep records of any payments made for resources.
Attend rehearsals and performances when applicable, assist with set-up and pack-down, and troubleshoot where needed.

Personal Spec:

Must be highly organised and have excellent communication skills.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Help recruit and support Unbound’s community of volunteers cast and crew members.
Create and distribute casting / crew calls for projects, and make contact with regular volunteers to inform them about new opportunities.
Look to maintain a diary / calendar for regular volunteers, noting when they are and aren’t free, so that we don’t make contact when not appropriate.
This role is suited to someone who is not looking to participate in projects as an actor (or has a close connection with someone who is).

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

SALES & PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:

Run Unbound’s social media channels (currently Facebook, X, Threads, and Instagram, but with a view to expanding onto other platforms).
Create engaging posts to publicise upcoming projects, and share them into relevant groups, and generate content where necessary.
Engage with our audience and other companies / groups in the sector via social media, to drive engagement for Unbound content.
Run marketing campaigns as-and-when required, and work with the Sales & Promotions Assistant to ensure effective promotion of upcoming performances.

Personal Spec:

Must be familiar with social media platforms and engagement, with excellent communication skills. Able to work in a reliant and efficient manner.

SALES & PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:

Monitor sales for Unbound projects and work to widen the audience for ticketed projects.
Identify press / promotional opportunities for the company, and coordinate any content / communications required.
Create links with businesses / organisations and social / cultural groups in the areas where we perform, and encourage them to book for Unbound’s shows.
Explore new ways of promoting Unbound’s work to new audiences and creating greater awareness of the company and its work.

COSTUME COORDINATOR

SALES & PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR

SCENERY & PROPS COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:

Maintain the extensive collection of costumes and accessories, and help establish a new hire service for other local theatre companies.
Work through the current stock, catalogue and sort items, and create a database that can then form part of the hire service.
Help ensure that all items are cleaned and repaired as required, and seek new volunteers to help with maintenance.
Work with show producers and directors to check out items as required, and ensure they’re returned / cleaned / mended after a production.
